Amy Shaw

Amy enjoys the dynamic nature of employment law and keeping her business clients up-to-date with the constant changes through news bulletins and bespoke training sessions and workshops.

Amy provides practical guidance, support and advice on all aspects of employment law to both employees and employers.  Amy advises clients on general employment matters and the resolution of employment disputes.  She endeavours to explore all of the options available to her client to resolve an employment dispute in the most cost effective and timely way possible.  If litigation becomes unavoidable, Amy represents employers and employees in all types of Employment Tribunal proceedings, including discrimination, unfair dismissal, whistle-blowing and contractual disputes.

Amy is experienced in drafting employment contracts, staff handbooks, advising on redundancy situations and on the management of disciplinary, grievance and capability procedures.

Outside of work Amy enjoys travelling, socialising, eating out and keeping fit (the latter of which is very much necessitated by a tendency to over-indulge in the foregoing).  She has recently completed the Plymouth Half Marathon to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West.  Amy has only ever played pitch and putt but still fancies her chances of beating Laurence and Daryl at golf (and isn’t entirely delusional in that regard).

Amy is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
