This page sets out the current rates of statutory pay and employment tribunal compensation limits that are set out by the government every April. 

Family Leave

Statutory Maternity Pay

First 6 weeks of maternity leave: 90% of employee's average weekly earnings.​

Following 33 weeks: 90% of average weekly earnings or £194.32 (whichever is lower). 

Statutory Paternity Pay

Available for up to 28 weeks at a weekly rate of 90% of average weekly earnings or £194.32 (whichever is lower). 

Statutory Adoption Pay

First 6 weeks of adoption leave: 90% of employee's average weekly earnings.​

Following 33 weeks: 90% of average weekly earnings or £194.32 (whichever is lower). 

Shared Parental Pay

You can share up to 50 weeks of leave and up to 37 weeks of pay between you in the first year.

37 weeks payable at 90% of average weekly earnings or £194.32 (whichever is lower).

Statutory Neonatal Care Pay

Up to a maximum of 12 weeks payable at 90% of average weekly earnings or £194.32 (whichever is lower).

Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay

Up to a maximum of 2 weeks payable at 90% of average weekly earnings or £194.32 (whichever is lower).

Other Statutory Pay

National Minimum Wage

National Living Wage (21+): £12.71

Ages 18-20: £10.85

Under 18: £8.00

Apprenticeship rate: £8

Statutory Sick Pay

The current weekly rate of Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) is £123.25. 

​This applies to all sick days between 6 April 2026 and 5 April 2027. 

​SSP is payable from the first day of sickness. 

Statutory Redundancy Pay

Up to 30 weeks' pay with a maximum cap of £22,530. 

Calculating Redundancy Pay

0.5 weeks' pay - each year of service between ages 18 - 21

1 weeks' pay - each year of service between ages 22 - 40

1.5 weeks' pay - each year of service aged 41+

A Week's Pay

Gross weekly pay up to a maximum of £751.

Tribunal Compensation Limits for Unfair Dismissal

Maximum Basic Award

Effective date of termination between 6th April 2026 and 5th April 2027: £22,530

 

Effective date of termination prior to 6th April 2026: £21,000

 

Calculated in the same way as statutory redundancy pay. 

Maximum Compensatory Award

Where the effective date of termination is before 1st January 2027: £123,453 or 52 weeks' gross pay (whichever is lower). 

​

For termination dates from 1st January 2027, there will be no cap on the compensation that could be potentially awarded by the Employment Tribunal.
