Job Title: Legal Practice Support – Employment Law
Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term Maternity Cover (Potential Permanent Opportunity)
Location: Southampton (Hybrid Working Available)
Hours: Minimum 25 Hours per Week
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

About the Role

We are a specialist employment law practice seeking an organised and proactive individual to support the day-to-day running of the firm during a maternity cover period.

The role combines legal practice support with the opportunity to assist solicitors on supervised legal work, including legal research, drafting and the use of AI-powered legal technology. For the right candidate, there may be an opportunity for the role to continue on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing client files and enquiries.
  • Preparing, formatting and proofreading documents and correspondence.
  • Supporting billing, compliance, office administration and practice management.
  • Assisting with marketing, website content and client communications.
  • Conducting legal and factual research under supervision.
  • Preparing first drafts of routine legal documents and correspondence.
  • Assisting with tribunal bundles, document management and case preparation.
  • Using approved AI tools to support legal research, drafting and process improvement.

About You

You will have:

  • Excellent organisational, communication and IT skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.

The following would be advantageous:

  • Experience in legal administration, office management or a similar professional support role.
  • An interest in employment law, legal technology and AI.
  • Legal research or drafting experience.
